Letter From Our Pastor

My dear brothers and sisters of the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel,

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

Whether you are just visiting for a short while, have moved here and are joining our parish, or are returning to your Catholic Faith, on behalf of our staff and all of the parishioners of our parish, I want to personally welcome you to the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, NJ.

"If we wish to serve God and love our neighbor well, we must manifest our joy in the service we render to Him and them. Let us open wide our hearts. It is joy which invites us. Press forward and fear nothing." ~ Katharine Drexel

The life of St. Katharine Drexel shows the great impact of generosity and how powerful the gift of self can be. Her life and love for the Eucharist challenge us to pursue truth and generosity in our own lives today and to use what we have to help those around us.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, celebrated reverently and beautifully, is at the heart of St. Katharine for her “Eucharist is a never-ending sacrifice. It is the Sacrament of love, the supreme love, the act of love." Worship of God and the Eucharist is “the source and summit of our Christian life.”  From this worship of God, we at St. Katharine then go out into the world to love our neighbor.  This love of neighbor begins at home, in serving each other in our parish family.

God has given each of us great gifts, gifts which He intends for us to use to help build His kingdom here on earth.  At St. Katharine there are many opportunities to use the gifts God has given you to serve Him and His Church.  Please check out our website and Parish Bulletin to see where God may be calling you to participate in this mission.  We are very glad you are here and look forward to getting to know you.

May God richly bless you!
