Children’s Liturgy
At the 8:30 and 10:30 AM Masses on Sundays, the children, ages 3-5, are invited to gather with their leaders/catechists in the front of the altar after the Opening Prayer. They are sent forth by the presider to the Religious Education classrooms that have been prepared for them with banners, a candle, and a lectern.
After a brief Welcome and Opening Prayer, the children listen to the First Reading proclaimed from the Children’s Lectionary, sing a Psalm and the Gospel Acclamation and then listen to the Gospel. Thereafter, the children are separated into two age-appropriate groups for reflections on the readings through appropriate stories, discussions, or pictures. During this time, the children are invited to share their own thoughts and ideas. After these reflections, the children profess a simple Act of Faith, pray their Prayers of Intercession, and then return to their families during the Presentation of the Gifts.
Children's Liturgy will be not be scheduled until further notice due to the CoVid19 Pandemic.
