Welcome to the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel Religious Education

The Religious Education Program at the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel provides a dynamic and enriching faith formation experience for elementary and middle school students who are members of our parish. The program offers an eight-year course of study for children attending public schools. Each year includes two semesters of in-person classroom instruction, with each grade level focusing on a particular aspect of our Catholic faith.

Our curriculum is designed to provide an integrated approach to learning and spiritual growth. It includes catechesis, prayer, sacramental preparation (First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation), traditional Catholic doctrine, Bible study, liturgy, community-building, service opportunities, and other essential dimensions of Christian life. This program is meant to complement the vital role that parents play in nurturing their child’s faith and character within the Catholic tradition.

General Class Schedule:*

• Kindergarten: Sundays, 10:30 AM – 11:20 AM
• Grades 1–6:
  • Wednesdays, 4:45 PM – 5:35 PM
  • Sundays, 9:30 AM – 10:20 AM
  • Sundays, 11:30 AM – 12:20 PM
• Grades 7–8: Sundays, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are essential to the success of our program. We are grateful for those who serve as catechists (teachers), classroom aides, and support staff (hall monitors or front desk assistants). Your time and talent make a meaningful difference. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office for more information.
