Rain did not deter a crowd from gathering at ground-breaking ceremonies at the new St. Katharine Drexel Parish Life Center in Egg Harbor Township on Saturday.

The church has been holding services at the Egg Harbor Township Intermediate School.  More than 750 families are members of the parish.

The groundbreaking of the Parish Life Center was held next to the rectory of the church.  The Rev. Joseph Ferrara and Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio held the services and blessed the ground at the ceremony.
