The families of soldiers deployed from McGuire Air Force Base celebrated Easter with a party at the chapel on Friday, April 19. More than 90 children whose mothers and fathers are fighting overseas were given an egg hunt and prizes.
St. Katharine Drexel Parish contributed more than 50 Easter baskets, 100 stuffed animals and toys, along with bags of candy for the Easter Egg Hunt.
The children, ages four weeks to 14 years, were grateful for the gifts; the base did not have any donations for the party other than what St. Katharine Drexel parishioners sent.
There were also stuffed animals and some baskets left over. They were given to the Youth Ministry at the Air Force Base Chapel.
Thanks to Father Joe and everyone who contributed.
